Audible is a subscription based service (owned by Amazon) that provides its users with access to over 425,000 high quality audiobooks and audio performances to choose from. For only $14.95 a month, you have instant access to 2 Audible originals and 1 audiobook of your choice each month.
This is a bargain, because audiobooks tend to be more expensive than actual hard copy books, and cost an average of $20 or more. After signing up, you are able to choose two FREE audiobooks of your choice.
Something to keep in mind is that you must already have an Amazon account in order to sign up for Audible. Learn more about how you can sign up for Amazon here.
The Benefits of Having an Audible Subscription
1. Consistent Quality
An important aspect that Audible always gives to their users, is consistent great quality. Never have I ever listened to an audiobook from them that had horrible audio sound or monotone narrators. Everything is in tip top shape, and that solid consistency can be comforting if you love to buy and try out new audiobooks quite frequently.
2. Access to Audible Originals
Because they’re recorded and made in the Audible recording studios – Audible originals are exclusive audiobooks only offered by Audible themselves. Meaning, you can only have access to these specific audiobooks if you already have a subscription to Audible. I’d definitely say that these Audible originals are a STEAL. There’s so many available in a plethora of genres that will appeal to readers of all ages!
3. It’s Great for Busy Readers
Audible is especially great for those of you who love to read, but simply don’t have the time to pick up a book. Just pull up your Audible app and listen to new books at any point while you’re on the go! They’re good to listen to while you’re on the way to work, are cleaning or doing homework, or even when you’re working out. The hands free approach that audiobooks provide, can be a serious life saver for busy bookworms!
So if you’re constantly buying and listening to audiobooks, I personally think that Audible would be a very good investment for you to make. It’ll save you money in the long run, and you’ll become obsessed with all the content available on Audible.
