These Disney Stories Have a Twist!
Hey there readers, and Happy Thanksgiving! Today I wanted to share a book series I’m grateful exists!
These Disney Stories Have a Twist, and you’re about to see why.
The book series, A Twisted Tale, is an amazing series for Disney lovers to read.
Each book has a small twist that changes the entire fate of the tale!
In the story of the Little Mermaid, Ariel found her true love in Prince Eric, and lived happily ever after. But what if Ariel had never defeated Ursula?
Aurora was saved from the evil fairy Maleficent and her wicked curse, by her beloved Prince Phillip. But what would’ve happened if Sleeping Beauty never woke up?
Aladdin found a magic lamp with a genie that granted him three precious wishes. He used them for good and saved Princess Jasmine along the way. But what if Aladdin had never found the lamp?
This series is THE perfect gift for a Disney obsessed bookworm! I just love these books.

Once Upon a Dream by Liz Braswell
Wait a minute, sleeping beauty never woke up in this book? Yep! Aurora is fast asleep, and so is her prince. After Prince Phillip kisses her, the sleeping curse is cast over him as well. Only armed with her mind, Aurora and Philip must work together to escape the evil landscape that Maleficent has set for them. Will Aurora be able to wake them both up? This story was such a creative twist.
Part of Your World by Liz Braswell
Okay so, imagine this…Ariel NEVER defeated Ursula. That changes everything right? In this story, Ariel’s voice is still gone, and her father has been killed by the evil sea witch. But after Ariel discovers that King Triton might be alive, she revisits the evil sea witch…and Eric! The Little Mermaid is my favorite, and I LOVED this retelling.
As Old As Time by Liz Braswell
We all know the story of Beauty and the Beast, and how the evil witch cursed the beast. But what if Belle’s mother was the one who cast the curse? After Belle touches the enchanted rose, the stolen memories of her mother come back. Now, Belle and Beast have 21 years worth of secrets to untangle. I’m already a sucker for Beauty and the Beast retellings, but this one took the cake!
A Whole New World by Liz Braswell
In this book, Aladdin never found that lamp, and Jafar has risen to power. Bleh. In fact, JAFAR is the one who stole the lamp, and is using the three wishes of the magic Genie. Aladdin and his people are the poorest in the land, and ex Princess Jasmine now has nothing. Banding together, the two decide to stop Jafar, and rise an army of their own. Their actions soon threaten the entire country, and the people they love. If you’re obsessed with Aladdin too, this book will make you happy!

Frozen: Conceal, Don’t Feel by Jen Calonita
When we saw that Jen wrote a Frozen retelling, we nearly fell out of our chairs. Haha! So what if Anna and Elsa never knew each other? Princess Elsa has so many important things to consider. She’s to be married, become the queen…but Elsa feels like something is…missing. When her parents die unexpectedly, Elsa embarks on the journey of a lifetime and meets someone special along the way… This book is perfect to read after watching Frozen 2!
Reflection by Liz Braswell
Starting off the story with a bang, Mulan must travel to the Underworld to save Captain Shang. There she must find his spirit, and bring him back to the world above, before it’s too late! I don’t know too much about Mulan, but I’m reading this right now, and love it so far!
Mirror, Mirror by Jen Calonita
We all know the story of Snow White. The jealous evil stepmother, the beautiful princess, and the poisoned apple. Okay, now forget everything you think you know and listen up! In this twisted retelling, the evil jealous stepmother poisons Snow’s PRINCE. Now, Snow White is alive and living meekly under her stepmothers rule. Once word reaches her that her long lost parents are actually alive, Snow prepares to get her revenge! Just ordered this, and I can’t wait to read it.
Disney Books to Preorder in 2020
Straight On Till Morning by Liz Braswell
In this book, Wendy first experiences Neverland, with Captain Hook! Wendy is 16 years old now, and has been sent away by her parents to be a governess in Ireland. Obsessed with her near experience of meeting Peter Pan, Wendy spends time writing all about a strange place called Neverland. Soon an opportunity presents itself, and Wendy finds herself stuck in a place she couldn’t have ever imagined. I just loved the Peter Pan storyline in Once Upon a Time, and can’t wait to read this book when it comes out!
So This is Love by Elizabeth Lim
How would Cinderella’s life turn out, if she NEVER tried on the glass slipper? Not able to prove she’s in fact the lost princess, Cinderella starts working in the palace as a seamstress. There she witnesses a deadly conspiracy against the king and his son. Now Cinderella must act fast before it’s too late. Another amazing book to add to your preorders!
Currently my favorites are Part of Your World and Once Upon a Dream! What book in this series are YOU planning on reading first?
