Here at Reading Obsessed, I definitely love discussing a good vampire book (or series). My all-time favorite vampire book series is Twilight by Stephenie Meyer and the House of Night Books by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast. This series follows along with the life of a young girl named Zoey Redbird. In her world, Vampyres have always existed. But when she herself starts to become one, it changes her entire life. Because of her budding transformation, Zoey is forced to attend a mysterious boarding school for others like her, called the House of Night. Once Zoey starts attending House of Night, lots of things ensue. This particular vampire book series is just perfect for teens (and adult) readers who love novels that include magic, paranormal boarding schools, and lots of adventure.
House of Night Books 1-3
Zoey’s life is turned upside down when she’s invited to attend a boarding school for newborn vampires. However, Zoey quickly realizes she’s not like her classmates, she’s marked. After learning that one of her classmates is putting everyone in danger, Zoey must gather the courage she needs to protect those she cares about.
Now that Zoey has accepted her destiny, life at House of Night is going much smoother. That doesn’t last long after a spree of murders leads to another vampire being suspected. Then when a string of bad luck threatens to tear Zoey apart, she has to fight to keep the House of Night safe.
When Zoey’s dearest friends might not be who they claim, Zoey must discern if her enemies are that bad after all. But after Zoey’s best friend shares a deadly secret, Zoey struggles to keep quiet and protect her friend. Adding in three boyfriends to the mix, Zoey is in for another crazy school year.
The House of Night Books 4-6
After Zoey becomes an outcast, she is struggling to find her place at House of Night. And when her biggest role model starts to make some questionable decisions, Zoey has to decide for herself what is wrong or right.
This year, Zoey meets the most handsome yet dangerous man she’s ever come across. Paralyzed by his intensity, Zoey soon realizes that all he wants is her. But Zoey doesn’t have much time to focus on that with the threat of new dangers on the rise.
Barely making it back to The House of Night, Zoey has lots on her plate. Now she must manage three ultra-demanding boyfriends, and decipher a disturbing vision from another classmate. On top of it, she finds herself being summoned by a dangerous man.
The House of Night Books 7-10
Zoey has lost everything, including her soul. Trapped, Zoey must rely on someone to bring her back to the surface. But her friends and classmates all seem to be going through terrifying problems of their own.
After experiencing a shattering betrayal, Zoey finds herself on an island. Training on the island to become queen, Zoey begins to doubt her home at House of Night. Her absence causes a strain on her romantic relationships, and Zoey doesn’t know if she cares anymore.
Zoey finally feels safe, but that doesn’t last long when a war is uprising. Things get more frustrating when the High Counsel refuses to investigate a dangerous person. And The House of Night is threatened when a bunch of humans risks its safety.
The House of Night Books 11-13
When the High Counsel finally agrees to hold the dangerous person responsible, it’s just the beginning. Now Zoey and her friends must prepare for a terrifying retaliation. But this time, they’re not sure if they’ll win.
As the looming danger grows impossibly bigger, both humans and vampires are at risk of destruction. It’s up to Zoey to protect The House of Night and keep the threats out of Tulsa. However, Zoey isn’t sure she’s strong enough.
Zoey is in so much trouble, that she’s not sure she’ll ever be free. And now that humans are aware of the vampire’s dangerous activities, every last resource is used to abolish the threat to Tulsa. Now Zoey must escape and use her remaining powers to banish the evil forever.
